For more than 10 years, the rooftop has hosted a much-loved summer rooftop cinema run by Artrage. Their current licence, which began in 2022, will finish on 29 May 2026, with no further extensions available.
As the final season gets underway, the City is opening an Expression of Interest (EOI) process to explore what might come next for this unique inner-city venue. The aim is to ensure a fair and transparent process that delivers the best outcome for the community.
How the EOI process works:
- Stage 1 – Open EOI (from 12 November 2025): Organisations are invited to submit their ideas and outline their experience delivering similar projects.
- Stage 2 – Request for Tender: Selected applicants will be asked to provide detailed proposals, including business models. The City will then choose the proposal that best supports ongoing activation and vibrancy in Northbridge.
The EOI closes on 9 December 2025. Stage 2 is expected to begin in mid-January 2026.
A new licence for rooftop activation is planned to be finalised by May 2026.
