Property enquiries

There are several different ways you can request information about your property. Please see the below options to find out the best way to request what you need.

Note:

You must be the owner of the property you are requesting plans for or alternatively have their consent to access the documents/plans.
If your property is located within the City of Vincent, Town of Cambridge, or Town of Victoria Park you will need to contact those respective authorities directly regarding archive searches.
The City of Perth cannot guarantee that the requested information is available and in the instance that your search is unsuccessful, the application fee is non-refundable.
The request must be clear and succinct.

Settlement/land purchase queries

Property settlement enquiries are usually requested by settlement agents or solicitors acting on behalf of the vendor or purchaser of a property soon to be settled. To get this information, the settlement agent must be acting on behalf of:

The current property owner.
Person(s) who have signed an intention to purchase the property.
Person(s) who have written authorisation from the property owner to conduct the enquiry.

A purchaser may also act on their own behalf by forwarding a letter of request. The fee for this service is $140 and the information is forwarded within seven working days.

The property settlement enquiry will determine the following information:

The value of rates levied.
Outstanding rate payments.
Refuse charges.
Zoning Orders or requisitions.
Details of Residential Building Approvals exceeding $10,000 in value.
Land resumption orders or requisition.

Copy of Public Building Certificate (Maximum Accommodation Certificate)
Copy of Occupancy Permit / Occupancy Permit – Strata
Copy of Strata Form 7
Copy of Certificate of Classification
Copy of Home Indemnity Insurance Certificate (applicable to single dwellings / residential apartment buildings or three (3) stories or less)
Copy of Building Permit / Licence
Copy of Sign Licence
Copy of Planning Approval
Copy of Committee /Council Reports or Minutes

Written planning advice

This is a separate and additional service to a specific document search, which can provide more detailed information (historic or future applications) noting details such as the floor area, plot ratio or parking numbers.
