The modest rise will support increased operational costs and account for the recent loss of over 900 City of Perth parking bays at Perth Concert Hall and Queens Gardens car parks.

Parking fees are an important source of revenue for the City. The money raised through parking fees goes back into our community, through investment in infrastructure, events, grants and parking technology upgrades.

Parking revenue also helps the City keep rate rises to a minimum, which is important for our businesses and residents.

The revised fee structure will ensure we can continue to support our community and maintain and activate our City.

It will also support investment in parking technology to continue to make parking in the City easy and accessible for everyone.

From 31 March 2025, the following changes will come into effect:

  • All City of Perth car parks will see a day-rate increase between 50 cents to $1 per day, and an hourly rate increase between 20 cents to 60 cents per day.
  • A $5 capped night rate will be reintroduced at all City of Perth car parks from 6pm.
  • Free night-time parking will continue to be available in certain on-street bays in the City of Perth from 6pm.
  • Visitors will still be able to park in the city for free on weekends, with a three-hour free parking promotion offered at three City of Perth car parks – The Cultural Centre, His Majesty’s and Pier Street car parks.
