Perth Festival 2025 will host more than 100 events across 13 City venues from 7 February – 3 March, celebrating the festival’s 72nd year.
City of Perth Deputy Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds said the Perth Festival offers a fitting finale to a record summer season of events in the City of Light.
“The City is so proud to support Perth Festival again in 2025. With warm, balmy summer nights, there’s no better time for the people of Perth to come together to celebrate music, art and theatre, and no better place to do it than right here in the City of Light,” Mr Reynolds said.
“This year, the City is thrilled to see our own Perth Town Hall transformed into
‘The Embassy’ –a hub where the public and artists can come together for nostalgic music and drinks from the ‘70s and ‘80s.
“Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday enjoy The Embassy Up Late for free - sample the cocktails, hit the dancefloor and strike up a chat with creative sparks from all walks of life”.
“Forrest Place will also come alive with all things dance for an entire week of the Festival as part of
‘Perth Moves 2025’ – an exciting opportunity to experience, witness, and participate in the world of dance. From beginners to some of the world’s most celebrated dance artists, everyone is encouraged to come together to move, be inspired or simply enjoy the spectacle. And better yet, it’s all free for all ages.” Reynolds said.
In an incredible first, the City of Light will truly live up to its name as Karla Bidi (meaning Fire Trail) transforms the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River) into a stunning, illuminated pathway, with large beacons of light stretching from the hills to the sea leading and welcoming locals and visitors alike to Perth Festival 2025.
Perth Festival Artistic Director Anna Reece said: “This Festival belongs to Perth. It showcases who we are to the world—our creativity, our energy, and our unique way of bringing people together. It’s a Festival that could only happen here, in the heart of our city, as we celebrate the places that make Perth truly special.
“From the grand stages of our beautiful theatres to the beating heart of Forrest Place, from the historic charm of Perth Town Hall to hidden laneways and unexpected city corners—every space holds stories, history, and possibility, transformed by the magic of artists and audiences coming together. A feat not possible without our steadfast and significant partnership with the City of Perth want our city to love our Festival, and for our Festival to love our city.”
In 2024, City of Perth council approved $355,600 in sponsorship to support Perth Festival.
