City backs major events, festivals and innovation

Fringe World Pleasure Gardens in Northbridge

The City of Perth has announced significant sponsorship for two of Western Australia’s most iconic events - FRINGE WORLD and Perth Festival - totalling $2.09 million, including a three year sponsorship of Artrage’s FRINGE WORLD.

Council has also approved sponsorship of nine arts and culture organisations worth a combined $1.16 million, including:

AWESOME Festival (2026–28)
WA Ballet
The Blue Room Theatre (2026–28)
Head On Photo Festival
West Australian Symphony Orchestra
Black Swan State Theatre Company WA
The Lester Prize for Portraiture
West Australian Opera
Scribblers Festival

These investments further cement Perth’s reputation as WA’s events capital – creating a vibrant hub for residents, visitors and businesses owners alike.

In addition, Council has approved a three-year sponsorship of Spacecubed’s Landing Pad Program totalling $180,000, designed to support and empower entrepreneurs, start ups and high growth businesses expanding into Western Australia.
