To renew or reserve items visit the Library catalogue. You will need your library card number and PIN to access your library account.
Items can be renewed up to three times if the items are not overdue and have not been requested by someone else. From Tuesday 5 March 2019 the Library will automatically renew your library items (if possible). The Library will send you an email or letter with details of items that could not be renewed, and any items that were automatically renewed will be listed with the new due back date.
You can reserve items that are on loan or on the shelf. Reserve items in person, over the phone or through the Library catalogue.
Your Library card must be presented for all City of Perth Library transactions. If you think your Library card has been lost or stolen, please let us know as soon as possible to avoid fraudulent use. Replacement cards are available for a nominal fee when we have confirmed your identity.
If the item you need is not listed in the City of Perth Library catalogue we can attempt to borrow the item on your behalf from another library on inter-library loan. Request an inter-library loan in person, over the phone or through the Library catalogue.
Fees and charges
Get some friends together and start your own book club with the Library’s free book sets. Come in and visit us to see the popular and acclaimed titles ready for you to borrow.
A book set can be borrowed for six weeks and renewed up to three times if it hasn’t been requested by another member. Please ensure all items in the book set are returned at the same time and in good condition. Missing or damaged items will incur charges. The Library member who borrows the set is responsible for its return. Please return the set to the Library during opening hours, as it can’t be returned through the 24 hour returns chute on Hay Street.
