In accordance with section 3.12(6) of the Local Government Act 1995, public notice is hereby given that the City of Perth has resolved to adopt the City of Perth Dogs Local Law 2025.

The purpose and effect of this local law are:

Purpose: To make provisions about the confinement of dogs, control the number of dogs that can be kept on premises in the district, and to require removal of dog excreta.

Effect: To extend the controls over dogs which exist under the Dog Act 1976 and Dog Regulations 2013.

This local law was published in the Government Gazette on Tuesday 29 April 2025 and will come into operation on Wednesday 14 May 2025.
 
A copy of the local law is available in the Government Gazette No. 48.
 
Alternatively, a printed copy can be obtained from the Customer Experience Centre – located on the ground floor of Council House, 27 St Georges Terrace, Perth and the City of Perth Library located at 573 Hay Street, Perth, during opening hours.
