At the heart of the celebrations is the award-winning Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail, illuminating Perth's streets and landmarks until 28 December with 22 dazzling light installations.

Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds said the City is ready to deliver its biggest and brightest festive season yet.

“Perth truly comes alive at Christmas, it’s the festive capital of Western Australia, and we’re expecting even bigger crowds and more magical memories in 2025.” Lord Mayor Reynolds said.

“The Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail is a must-do experience for locals and visitors alike, lighting up our streets and spreading Christmas cheer across the City. We’ve also brought back the much-loved Merry Mile, a shorter route perfect for families with little ones, so everyone can join in the festive fun.”

The festive celebrations continue right across the City, with a packed program of events throughout December

  • Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant | Saturday 6 December | St Georges Terrace |A Perth institution, bringing colour, music and joy to the streets.
  • Brass on the Grass | Sunday 7 December | Victoria Gardens |A relaxed evening of festive tunes in a beautiful riverside setting.
  • Festive Lights | Saturday 13 December | Elizabeth Quay | A breathtaking night featuring a 500-drone show and fireworks display, along with live entertainment, roving performers, delicious food and family fun.
  • Christmas Nativity Concert | Sunday 21 and Monday 22 December | Forrest Place | A cherished tradition bringing the story of Christmas to life under the stars.

Families can also visit Santa at Council House from 5 December to 24 December for free photos and festive fun.

“Christmas in the City is a time to come together, to celebrate, to connect, and to create memories,” Lord Mayor Reynolds said.

“I invite everyone to visit the City, enjoy our free events, find that perfect gift, or experience our world-class dining and entertainment. This year, more than ever, Christmas truly lives here, in the City of Perth.”
