The festival, developed by the City of Perth, in partnership with the hospitality industry, promises to tantalise the tastebuds with a program of culinary events, bespoke dining experiences and special offers showcasing Western Australia's finest produce.

The Lord Mayor said Plateful Perth was an opportunity to experience Perth’s thriving foodie culture and the vibrant flavours that make it a gastronomic destination.

“There are few experiences more joyful than sharing a delicious meal with your friends and loved ones – we want to capture this joy and spread it far and wide during the month of August," Mr Zempilas said.

“We have more dining options than anywhere else in the state, and we have created Plateful Perth to celebrate and showcase our world class hospitality scene.

“I encourage everyone to come into the City and discover hidden gems, revisit old favourites, make the most of limited time offers and create lasting memories.”

Plateful Perth runs throughout August and includes Plated: A Sensory Feast. This headline event will awaken the senses as you delight in the eclectic exhibitions of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, while feasting on a menu carefully curated by State Buildings Executive Chef Kim Brennan. Director of Beverages Matt Bodycote has paired each course with a drink designed to elevate the sensory experience to the next level.

The multisensory experience continues at the Market Grounds Cinema Supper Club pairing food and film, with cult classic, Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Kicking off the festival on 1 August, is the Heritage Wine Bar’s Midwinter Feast. A Farm to Table Dinner with three guest chefs joining forces to produce a menu that shines a spotlight on local produce.

Wagyu and wine more to your liking? Indulge in WA’s best at Samuels on Mill’s for a three-course evening to remember. Choose how you hydrate with a selection of wine and gin available from Ampersand Estates and Rainfall Distillery. Or go for a full-bodied red at Meat the Malbecs on Mayfair Lane.

Already a Biv-convert? You’ll love A Night in Mauritius, when the chef of Perth’s renowned Bivouac explores dishes of his homeland for just $124 per person or for a more interactive gastronomic adventure, head to The Stables for Dreamstate Series. Outback Surrealism.

Connoisseurs of the finer things in life can enjoy A Riverside Evening with Penfolds as the restaurant welcomes the Chief Winemaker from one of the world’s most revered wine labels to pair selected Penfolds wines with four distinctive courses.

And there’s so much more. Try a boozy donut from Varnish on King, head to The Court for Drag Queen High Tea or the Reveley for a progressive dining experience through the South-West.

Restaurants like The Globe, The Aviary, Market Grounds and Le Vietnam also have generous deals on offer throughout the month, including a Plateful set menu at Matilda Bay and mid-week specials at The Stables, Sauma and Brown Street Bar & Grill.

There’s too much to mention here but there’s something to suit every budget. You'll be able to find all the details on the Plateful Perth website, platefulperth.com.au, when it goes live this weekend.
