From 28 November through to 28 December, the trail will feature 22 vibrant light-installations spanning approximately 3.5km through Central Perth.
Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds said Christmas is a magical time in the City of Light that’s not to be missed.
“No festive season in Perth is truly complete without our Christmas Lights Trail, and this year we’ve gone brighter and better than ever. Whether you’re ticking off each installation or strolling the ‘Merry Mile’ route - perfect for families and little legs - there’s something for everyone and cherished memory to be made.”
Rio Tinto Iron Ore Chief Executive Matt Holcz said: “The Christmas Lights Trail is a wonderful celebration that reflects the spirit and diversity of the Perth community, including Nyoongar culture.
“We’re delighted to support this event that brings families together and showcases what makes our city such a special place to live.”
This year’s highlights include brand-new installations, such as Christmas Tree Lane in Yagan Square, GeomeTree in Central Park, and Elfie Selfie in Elizabeth Quay.
With the support of Lotterywest, the trail will shine even brighter with immersive light-and-sound experiences - including Moodjar Sentinels, honouring the sacred Moodjar Tree and its deep Nyoongar cultural significance, set to a powerful soundtrack by Phillip Walleystack.
Back by popular demand, our iCity volunteers will run free Christmas lights walking tours which are also featured on the Perth Trails app, offering informative walking trails suitable for people of all ages.
And don’t forget to grab a quick and easy dinner before the trail at the Twilight Food Markets every Friday night in Forrest Place.
To make visiting even easier, enjoy three hours of free parking on weekends and public holidays in select City of Perth Parking car parks. View here for more details: 3-Hour Free Parking on Weekends and Public Holidays.
