The City of Perth Council met on Tuesday 29 July. The following decisions were made:
Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre development
Plans to redevelop the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) were announced by the State Government in January 2024.
The proposal is to create a new waterfront precinct and a modern space for conferences and exhibition. Find out more here.
Last night, Council adopted a position in relation to the proposed road and associated works (Early Works) to prepare for redevelopment of the PCEC. Read the position here.
Information about 2025 City of Perth election
The next Local Government election will be held on 18 October 2025.
Four Councillor positions are set to become vacant with the new terms to expire on 20 October 2029.
The vacant Lord Mayor position will also be filled at this election with the term to expire on 16 October 2027.
Candidate nominations open on Thursday 28 August 2025 and close at 4pm on Thursday 4 September 2025.
