A new marketing campaign from the City of Perth will cement city’s reputation as the place to be at Christmas.
The ‘Christmas lives here’ campaign, which features TV, press, digital and outdoor advertising, celebrates the joy of the festive season in the City of Light.
At its heart, the campaign is a story of a City that lights up over Christmas to provide a beacon of Christmas joy for all to enjoy. The City at Christmas is where families and friends come together to enjoy the spectacle of streets filled with gleaming decorations, glinting lights and hours of festive events.
The TV ad is told through the eyes of a young girl, who is overjoyed to see the distractions of the year melt away as her family reconnects under the spectacular lights of the City.
Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said it is a story that speaks to us all, as the wonder of the festivities across the city remind us that Christmas lives here, in the City of Perth.
“No Christmas is complete without a visit to the City to experience all of the favourite Christmas delights, plus some joy-filled new additions, including new installations in the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail.
“The Christmas Lights Trail is always a must-see highlight for families and this year is no exception with 17 new and amazing installs including immersive experiences to discover across Central Perth and Northbridge. Families in particular should look out for the new route titled The Merry Mile that has been specifically designed for little legs,” he said.
“The City is also playing host to a variety of free, family festive events including the iconic Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant on Saturday 2 December and the Christmas Nativity show on 16 - 17 December in Forrest Place, among many other events and activities.
“Christmas lives in the City of Light and I look forward to joining the crowds as we all come together to bask in wonders of season and all the magic it brings,” Mr Zempilas said.
The TV ad is complemented by banners, flags and billboards all around the city.
