This ANZAC Day will feature full commemorative activities in the City for the first time since 2019 and welcomes new opportunities to honour our ANZACs.
Kings Park will host a new Sunset Service on 24 April, for those who find the traditional Dawn Service a challenge to attend. The inclusive service will include audio description, wheelchair access and ACROD parking, AUSLAN and quiet space facilities.
And on 25 April, RSLWA’s traditional service returns to the streets of Perth with the Kings Park Dawn Service, the Gunfire Breakfast at Government House, the March through the CBD, and the Commemorative Service at Perth Concert Hall.
As part of Boorloo Heritage Festival, the City is honoured to support an Indigenous ANZAC Day Service at the Supreme Court Gardens. The commemorative event will include a special corroboree and haka to honour both Aboriginal and Maori service men and women.
“I am thrilled to welcome the people of Perth back into the City this ANZAC Day following three years of COVID restrictions. This year’s events are more inclusive than ever before – giving everyone the option to pay their respects in their way,” said City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas.
“The City of Perth is proud to support RSLWA and host ANZAC commemorations in the City”, Mr Zempilas said.
Free parking will be available from 6am to 1pm at several City of Perth carparks on 25 April including:
- Plain Street
