The practicalities of parking, cleaning and limitations
We can provide security, audio and projection services, comfortable chairs and round banquet tables seating eight-to-10 people. You can also supply your own long tables or soft furniture for a unique look.
Your caterer is expected to do basic cleanup, packing away hire gear and rubbish; Town Hall staff will look after the rest. Any hire gear that cannot be removed on the night must be neatly packed into a side room. Alternatively, hire the hall for another two hours the next morning and do your pack-out then. If you want to be involved in the setup, you can hire the hall the evening before. A three-bay loading/unloading area comes with the hire, which you can use for wedding cars and caterers.
Unfortunately, candles are not permitted at the venue because of fire restrictions but excellent LED lookalikes are commercially available.

What about security, insurance, liquor and other licenses?
Security
The cost of security will be included in your quote. All events after 6pm require one security guard. Events involving alcohol require one guard per 100 persons. Additional security may be required at management discretion.
InsuranceA certificate of public liability insurance is required from businesses and organisations hiring Perth Town Hall. Private individuals hiring the hall for weddings. for instance, do not require public liability insurance.
Liquor Licences
An occasional licence is required when hospitality is provided to sponsors or clients, when alcohol is sold or supplied as part of a ticket price, or when it has been paid for out of member’s fees. There are prescribed exemptions for very small events (75-100 persons) and private parties in some circumstances. Weddings do not require a licence and no further licence is required if a licensed caterer is engaged to serve the alcohol. The Bookings Officer will advise whether a liquor licence is required.
Applications for an occasional licence can be obtained by visiting the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor website or calling (08) 9425 1888. You must apply for a licence at least two weeks before the event. Specific information for your event must be obtained from the Department. Generally, applications for licenses for 249 persons or fewer are straightforward. For events involving 250-300 people, the licensee must complete a short version of the Responsible Service of Alcohol course. For events over 300 people, the licensee, the event manager and all servers must have completed the full Responsible Service of Alcohol course.
