Totterdell Park
Totterdell Park is an important local open space in West Perth, uniquely bordered by adjacent residents and businesses. Following recent community feedback, it has been identified as a priority for enhancement in the City’s Urban Greening Strategy and Open Space Plan.
Community engagement
The City of Perth has developed the Totterdell Park Enhancement Place Plan which outlines current conditions, key issues and opportunities to enhance people’s use and enjoyment of the space.
The community was invited to review the Place Plan and provide feedback through an online survey, two pop-up events in the park, and letter drops to nearby residents and businesses. The online survey was open from 4–18 May and received 76 responses.
Feedback shows the community strongly values the park’s tranquil, green character and would like this to be retained, while supporting upgrades to certain elements to enhance everyday use.
The City has analysed and summarised the findings from the online survey in the Totterdell Park Community Engagement Summary.
Key themes from this feedback include:
- Retain existing green, calm character of the park
- Support for additional elements such as seating, shelter, exercise equipment, artwork and BBQs
- Support for upgrading the playground
- Recognition of the park as a popular space for dogs, with a need to balance different user groups
- 84% of respondents support or partially support the proposed spatial arrangement in the Place Plan
Community feedback will now inform the development of a draft concept design for the park, which will be shared for further consultation in late 2026.
This project is scheduled for construction in 2027/28.
