Supreme Court Gardens Event Infrastructure Upgrade Project

The Supreme Court Gardens event space is getting an upgrade.

Since 2016, when the Esplanade space was removed for the Elizabeth Quay development, the Supreme Court Gardens has been functioning as one of the City’s premium event spaces situated by the Derbarl Yerrigan/Swan River.

The planned upgrades will allow for a larger range of events to be enjoyed year-round whilst minimising ongoing maintenance costs and improving day-to-day use of the gardens for residents and visitors.

Improvements include the provision of a permanent event stage, upgraded drainage infrastructure and increased accessibility for both pedestrians and service vehicles.

All works shall be underpinned by sustainability initiatives with a focus on the use of recycled construction materials and construction methods, and increasing biodiversity in the area through the introduction of additional native planting.

What’s next?

The City is busy working with a consultant team to finalise the design. Construction works are expected to commence in February 2026.

Updates on the project, including construction timings and impacts, will be published as they come to hand.
