Hello again,
I was pleased to be able to announce today the second phase of Perth Bounce Back supporting local businesses, workers and visitors.
Phase 2 includes:
- Matched business improvement grants of up to $20,000
Up to $100 City of Perth parking card bonus(*this offer has now closed)- A partnership with CCIWA to offer a free comprehensive support package to 200 city businesses
- Bringing buskers back to the City with free permits
$20,000 MATCHED GRANTS
Business Improvement Grants of up to $20,000 (with matched funding by the applicant) will be considered for business improvement projects within the
City of Perth.
The maximum contribution the City can provide is 50% of the project cost with the other 50% being funded by the applicant. That is, to be eligible for $20,000, the total eligible project costs need to be at least $40,000.
Applicants must be creating a new product or experience within the City which contributes to the overall improvement of its location or contribute to the success and growth of existing or new businesses within identified key sectors.
Applications are open now and close on 30 May 2022.
The grants can be used for:
- building works, with a focus on street level areas such as facades and lighting enhancements and activating underutilised spaces;
- professional fees,
- accredited acoustic audits for venues seeking to offer entertainment;
- installation of outdoor furniture or al fresco (compliant with the City of Perth Alfresco Dining Guidelines); and
- laneway enhancement projects
The City will match every dollar loaded onto
This is great value for people who want to return to the office but are reluctant to use public transport. With your $100 and the City's $100 you will be able to park for a month in one of our $10 car parks.
This is on top of the already announced free night time parking and 3 hours free parking on weekends at 3 of our best car parks.
A six-month CCIWA Essential membership package, worth almost $1000, will be available to 200 City-based businesses, with fewer than 29 fulltime employees.
Eligible businesses will also have unlimited access to the Chamber’s employee relations advice line during their complimentary memberships.
This means businesses can get expert advice on business continuity, as we all learn to live with COVID-19, and access member-rates’ training and e-learning packages.

I'm really delighted the City can offer free busking permits for new performers, and those wishing to renew.
This is all about getting our City buzzing again, with workers back in offices, supporting our businesses during their coffee and lunch breaks - or having a drink or meal after work - and enjoying the talent playing on our streets and in our malls.
It was great to get out this week and meet some of our small business owners who took advantage of the first phase of Bounce Back and applied for, and received, $5000 Bounce Back Grants (now closed).
Many are using the money to market and promote their business, while some like Brian at the Picabar have used it to purchase outside CCTV.
All of our small businesses and retailers that have kept the front doors open during the past three months are to be applauded. I'm confident better times are just around the corner.
And ... I'll see you in the City.
