Bushfire donations, for the Lord Mayor's Distress Relief Fund, are still coming in thick and fast!
The Lord Mayor Distress Relief Fund is continuing to receive generous donations from the community and business, reaching a whopping $15,391,475 as at 11 March 2021.
Lord Mayor of the City of Perth Basil Zempilas said the money flowing in had already started going out directly to those people that needed it most.
“$1.125 million in Quick Response Grants has already been disbursed to 45 applicants with a disbursement of $300,000 to a further 16 applicants to go out at the end of this week.”
Today the Association of Financial Advisors Foundation presented at cheque to the Lord Mayor for $2032.20.
“I’m continually overwhelmed by the generosity of West Australian’s. These terrible bushfires may be extinguished but the pain and anguish is still being felt by those affected. That’s why this fund is so important.”
“Today, on behalf of the appeal, I was presented with a cheque from The Association of Financial Advisers Foundation for $2082.20 who have been raising money through their membership. I am incredibly thankful and can guarantee their donation will go to those who need it most.”
“It’s not too late to donate, simply go to appealswa.org.au or visit any Bankwest branch.”
Assistance is available to residents of the Shire of Mundaring and City of Swan who suffered personal hardship due to the loss or damage to their primary residence, property, furniture or personal effects as a result of the Wooroloo and Hills Bushfire.
