This week the City of Perth welcomed 64 new Australian citizens.
Originating from 22 different countries, our new citizens showcase the depth and diversity of our rich culture.
Australian citizenship represents full and formal membership of the community of the Commonwealth of Australia and unites all Australians.
The culture and traditions that migrants bring to Australia, including their language and religion, contribute to making Australia a vibrant community.
Presiding Officer Deputy Lord Mayor Sandy Anghie said “Citizenship is a common bond which unites all Australians, whether they are Australia’s traditional inhabitants, first generation migrants or descendants of earlier settlers. Our rich heritage stems from the contribution made by all of us.”
Congratulations to our new citizens!
