Riverfront Masterplan

We have kickstarted the conversation to reimagine Perth's magnificent waterfront with a Riverfront Masterplan designed to unlock the potential of the Swan River. 

The Swan River is one of Western Australia's greatest natural assets and we see it coming to life as a world-class city park to be enjoyed by residents, workers and visitors alike.

It is a bold vision and we hope it will provide a genuine connection between the City and Swan River and will mean that for the first time in a long time people will be able to go down and touch the river's edge.

We envisage up to 3000 trees increasing our urban canopy, along with walking trails, sports facilities, boardwalks, riverfront beaches and lagoons.

As always, we will engage and consult with our residents, and the wider Perth community, to maximise this opportunity. But our vision is bold and we want our river frontage to be more than a road and a bike path and to rival the river and harbour frontage of other Australian cities such as Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
