The City of Perth has prepared a draft Local Planning Strategy. The Local Planning Strategy is one of the key guiding documents for the growth of Perth city over the next 10-15 years. It will provide the strategic basis for the preparation of the City of Perth’s new Local Planning Scheme No.3 and planning policies.

The draft Local Planning Strategy has been certified by the WAPC and can now proceed to formal advertising for community feedback. The comment period has been extended, commencing on 27 January 2022 and concluding at midnight on 25 March 2022.

For individual comments to be formally considered, please complete the Submission Form or upload a submission via the Local Planning Strategy Engage Perth webpage.

If you are making a submission on behalf of an organisation, agency, business and/or community group with an accompanying cover letter, please send all mail in a digital format to CPUINBOX@cityofperth.wa.gov.au and attention to the City Planning Unit and include 'Local Planning Strategy Submission' in the subject line.

A Local Planning Strategy is a legislative prerequisite for preparing the City’s future Local Planning Scheme No.3 which will replace the City’s existing Planning Schemes.

The Strategy will support the City in fulfilling its role to recognise, promote and enhance the social, environmental, economic and cultural setting of the city for the community, both now and into the future.
