Prepare yourself for an exciting winter school break in the heart of Perth! The city is ready to kick off the season with a schedule of thrilling activities, warming venues and magical delights.
At the forefront of the city’s winter events calendar is the highly anticipated return of Lightscape. Now in its second year, Lightscape transforms Kings Park into a magical realm of light, colour, and sound. With a special focus on what lies beneath, this year’s installations will transport you to another world.
Brace yourself for the snow-capped wonders of the School’s Out Winter Fest, where the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre transforms into a fairy tale-like winter wonderland. From gliding gracefully on the twinkling City of Light Ice Rink to braving the snow slides and carnival rides for an adrenaline-packed adventure, there's something for everyone to enjoy!
Looking for a cozy escape from the cooler weather? Look no further than Perth City Library, where more activities await. From daily crafts perfect for budding artists to enchanting screenings of beloved children's movies like "Astro Kid” and “My Life as a Zucchini,” there's plenty to keep you entertained.
Snuggle up and join one of the library’s Pyjama Storytime sessions, where acclaimed author Peter Cheong will enchant you with his award-winning book, Every Night at Midnight. After the reading, indulge in hot chocolate, light snacks, an illustration demonstration, and a delightful craft activity.
But that’s not all! The library is set to welcome majestic birds from the WA Birds of Prey Centre. In this interactive and educational experience, you'll learn about and have the opportunity to hold and snap some selfies with some of Australia's most impressive predators.
With all this and much more on offer, there’s no better place to spend your winter break than the City of Light!
