Expressions of Interest are sought from a suitably qualified and experienced person to join the City of Perth’s Audit & Risk Committee as an external member.

To be considered for this position, you must be either a member (or recently retired member) of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:

• financial management/reporting
• risk management systems and procedures
• internal business controls
• internal/external audits

Exposure to local government financial management and reporting is not essential, but will be highly regarded.

The appointment will be made by Council for a two-year term. The Committee currently comprises five members, made up of four Elected Members and an external independent member. The Committee meets four times a year. Each meeting is scheduled for 2 hours, requiring approximately two hours of preparation time.

No meeting fee is payable, as this is not permitted by the Local Government Act 1995, however, reimbursement of reasonable expenses will be made.
