Tree Month wrap up
And that's a wrap! Thank you to everyone who took part in our inaugural Tree Month, throughout May we planted 317 trees with help from the community.
New trees have been planted along Point Fraser, John Oldham Park Birdiya Drive, Mounts Bay Road, Roe Street and more, plus we’ve pledged to double the number of trees we plant in 2023 compared to the past three years.
Our parks team have also been very busy upgrading boring old verges around the City into beautiful native sanctuaries - you can watch one of their transformations here.
Also, throughout May we held weekly sustainable workshops on our street trees, verges, composting and mircrogreening - which was a fantastic way to engage with the community.
We'll be back next May for a bigger and better month celebrating some of our most precious City assets - our trees!
