City of Perth Chief Executive Officer Murray Jorgensen said the appointment of Mr Chris Kopec, sees the new Executive Leadership Team begin to take shape.
“Mr Kopec is a current City of Perth employee who will take on the portfolio of the Infrastructure and Operations Alliance,” Mr Jorgensen said.
“His appointment is an exciting development for the City and I’m very pleased Mr Kopec has taken up the opportunity, as his internal and external experience will be invaluable in this role.
“Prior to joining the City of Perth as a Senior Project Manager last year, Mr Kopec worked on a number of major projects throughout Western Australia and Queensland.
“He also has experience in establishing the Georgiou Group’s presence in the Queensland market which will be invaluable as part of a new leadership team, resetting the future direction of the City.”
Mr Kopec said the chance to take on a General Manager’s role during a period of transition at the City will provide a challenge, but one he will embrace.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with the other Executive team members, managers, the CEO and Commissioners alike,” Mr Kopec said.
“Having been entrenched at the City since March 2018, I have developed strong relationships both internally and externally which I believe will hold me in good stead in the General Manager’s position.”
Mr Kopec will begin in his new role on 1 September.
