Jayson Miragliotta has joined the City in the role of General Manager, Planning and Economic Development, with more than 28 years experience as an urban planner and 15 years in Local Government experience.
City of Perth CEO Murray Jorgensen said the appointment of Mr Miragliotta symbolises a fresh start for the City, with four new professionals joining the ranks.
“Having worked overseas for the past 11 years, Jayson has been looking forward to working in his hometown once again and being part of Perth’s regeneration,” Mr Jorgensen said.
“With Jayson’s arrival, we now have a fully-fledged Executive Leadership Team on board, to lead each Alliance through the next steps of our corporate recovery journey.
“Alongside our existing General Managers Anne Banks-McAllister, Chris Kopec and Bill Parker, Jayson will drive the City closer to the goals of our Corporate Recovery Implementation Plan.
“All appointed General Managers have a blend of local government and private sector experience, which equips them to fully understand and appreciate the challenges from within and outside the organisation.”
Jayson Miragliotta Bio:
Jayson has been an Urban Planner for over 28 years. His career in local government began in the regional Cities of Kalgoorlie and Bunbury. He was later appointed Executive Director Planning and Sustainability at the City of Mandurah and Executive Director Urban Management at the City of Fremantle.
After 15 years in local government, Jayson moved into the private sector where he worked locally for Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and Benchmark Projects Australasia. He was also Managing Director for Mplan and Urbaniche Town Planning Consultants.
In 2008, Jayson relocated to the Middle East where he held a variety of Executive Director roles in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh. During his time overseas Jayson has been instrumental in delivering several large-scale iconic master planned projects for Nakheel, Emaar, Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) and Tourism Development Investment Company (TDIC) including Saadiyat Island, Dubai Hills Estate, Lebanon Waterfront, Khams Shamat, The Wave and Mina Rashid
Jayson’s most recent role is as the Executive Director Master Planning for the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF’s) flagship NEOM (www.neom.com) giga project on the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia.
Jayson’s strengths include the ability to provide strong leadership, identify new development opportunities, think strategically and achieve innovative development solutions.
After working overseas for 11 years, Jayson is looking forward to relocating back to his hometown and being part of Perth’s regeneration.
In his spare time, Jayson is an avid cyclist and bike collector and enjoys Perth’s outdoor lifestyle.
