The City of Perth greatly values the diversity of entertainment that buskers and street performers provide in the public realm and is committed to providing a safe, accessible and culturally sensitive environment for all visitors, workers and residents.

Chair Commissioner Eric Lumsden said a review of the Busking Guidelines has been conducted, resulting in the identification of opportunities for improvement.

“Importantly, the City has worked with the busking community and consulted other capital city guidelines as part of its review,” Commissioner Lumsden said.

“The new guidelines will now be trialled over the next six months and introduces a new online permit application process for buskers at a significantly reduced rate of $60 annually, down from $269.”

During the trial period, feedback is being sought from performers, business and the public.

Comments and suggestions will be considered to inform and finalise recommendations to the Busking Guidelines and Street Entertainment Policy.
