The Commissioners of the City of Perth, in cooperation with the Committee for Perth and the Department for International Trade at the British Consulate Perth, hosted the Rt. Hon the Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman Peter Estlin for a business breakfast at Council House yesterday.
The event, attended by prominent members of the Perth business community, highlighted links between the cities of London and Perth and opportunities for future collaboration.
Chair Commissioner Andrew Hammond said the Lord Mayor’s visit was a valuable opportunity to strengthen Perth’s relationship with London.
“It was a privilege to host the Rt. Hon the Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman Peter Estlin, and for him to meet with local business leaders and to learn about some of the business innovation that is occurring here in Perth,” Chair Commissioner Hammond said.
“Given our strategic location in the Indo-Pacific region, and our strong resources sector, it’s important for Perth to maintain strong relationships with financial and trade centres across the globe.”
The Rt. Hon the Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman Peter Estlin will also be visiting Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney as part of his delegation’s visit to Australia.
