Confluence: Festival of India in Australia offers activities such as interactive Bollywood dance, yoga and guided meditation workshops in Cathedral Square, and performances from some of India’s leading actors and classical and contemporary musicians.

Chair Commissioner Eric Lumsden said events such as this encouraged cultural diversity in the city and were beneficial to many sectors of the Perth community.

“This bilateral festival allows the Australian and Indian relationship to be recognised and celebrated through the arts,” Commissioner Lumsden said.

“Local businesses, are encouraged to work with organisers to provide opportunities for Perth’s community to actively increase their understanding of Indian culture.”

Confluence: Festival of India in Australia runs until November and features a mix of free and ticketed events.

Several venues will be incorporated, including Cathedral Square, Perth Concert Hall, His Majesty’s Theatre and St Georges Cathedral. Event listings can be found here.
