From 2pm on Sunday 30 September, the Eagles’ home crowd is expected to descend on the eastern side of the park to welcome the boys home.

“Win, lose or draw, we are delighted to support the West Coast Eagles – the first AFL team to come out of this state,” City of Perth Chair Commissioner Eric Lumsden said.

Following entertainment by local Western Australian musicians, the team will be welcomed on stage with official proceedings.

The Northbridge Piazza and Perth Cultural Centre screens will also live stream the welcome home event, providing an even greater opportunity for Western Australians to support the team throughout the city.

In the days leading up to the AFL Grand Final, significant City of Perth landmarks will be lit up in blue and gold to show support for the West Coast Eagles.

Council House, Trafalgar Bridge, Matagarup Bridge, The Bell Tower, Yagan Square, Optus Stadium and Elizabeth Quay are just some of the landmarks to be lit up.

The AFL Grand Final will also be screened at the Northbridge Piazza, with bean bags placed out for the public.
