Northbridge Taxi Hub
The $2 million upgrade of the Milligan Street taxi rank to provide increased safety and decreased waiting times is complete. The new rank will make getting a taxi from Northbridge a safer and more comfortable experience.
The project includes upgraded lighting; installation of more CCTV cameras and weather shelters; and changes to the road layout and widening of the footpath to increase space for queuing and taxi loading.
The project was jointly funded by the City of Perth and the Department of Transport.
Rank management officers, whose presence at the taxi rank has reduced customer waiting times and violent and antisocial behaviour, will continue to work at the upgraded hub.
