Testimonials

Bar Lafayette

“As recipients of a City of Perth Small Business Grant we were able to get our signage installed and launch our business at a time when cash flow was short and paramount. With the help of the grant we got the visual presence we desired and the signage has been a integral part of our image.”

Casa Mexicana – El Compa

"This new licensed area has worked really well in the past two weeks, attracting more guests than we had originally planned for so we are happy to see the positive results already!  From the first contact, our experience with the City of Perth Small Business Grants program has been great.  All our inquiries have been dealt with in a timely and professional manner and the process was smooth and straight forward.  As a small start up restaurant, competing with established venues in the heart of Northbridge, this grant has been crucial for us to set up an alfresco area to better serve our guests.  Casa Mexicana - El Compa is only nine months old and we are very thankful for having the grant appoved, as it allows us to focus on serving our guests in the best possible manner rather than worrying about when and how to afford the purchase of equipment needed to set up our alfresco area.” – Gianni Monti.

La Petite Galerie

“The Small Business Grant program ensured our artist studio became a fully-utilised space for other artists to benefit from its inner city location while offering a professional yet affordable work environment. The grant enabled the studio to add vitality to the streetscape through its signage and custom fitout, turning an under-utilised space into an accessible one for emerging artists and small businesses to showcase their art and services. Thank you City of Perth for this valuable initiative.” – Sue-Lyn Moyle

Picabar - Cultural Centre, Northbridge

“We used the City of Perth Small Business Grant to purchase outdoor furniture for a previously unused courtyard outside our building.  The grant was extremely handy at the time and the new area, and the furniture in it, has been well received.”

Burger Bistro on Shafto Lane

"It was great to get some financial support from the City of Perth to improve our business through the installation of a retractable awning.  As the heavy storms last year brought down large branches that provided shade and ambiance the installation of the awning has allowed us to recreate a pleasant outdoor dining experience at our Shafto Lane shop.  The City of Perth staff was great in guiding us through the grant process and really understood what we were trying to achieve".

Cabin Fever Café

"Cabin Fever Cafe has been a long time coming- the space has been in development for over a year. Cabin Fever was granted $10,000 from the City of Perth, in the form of a Matched Funding Grant to contibute to the fitout of our new cafe".

POPP – Public Outdoor Ping Pong

"The world of public outdoor ping pong has been buzzing these past months. POPP now has tables installed in Sydney, Perth and Melbourne. Our 1,000 friends on facebook is quickly becoming 2,000. We are heading to the Parks & Leisure Australia national conference in September. We will soon be releasing our concrete ping pong table. Magazines including Frankie, Men’s Style and Yen have been writing about us, and radio stations, property developers, universities and major newspapers have been poking us. Our interactive website is going live in two weeks!".
